The subject matter for this most recent series of prints is drawn from the landscape My approach has been influenced by my surrounding environment and also through my experience of travelling. I am concerned with how the landscape resonates within me and in capturing the essence of a place. Employing simplified forms, lines and a palette of muted colours, the landscape becomes pared down as I seek to capture a transient glance of a place.

A Place is not simply a location. Each place has a profound individuality - it’s surface texture shaped by the elements. Over familiarity of a place causes numbing of our senses. Over time our environments become so familiar that soon we do not see it for itself anymore. By selecting what might normally go unnoticed, and using it in another form, my work seeks to draw attention to nature and our environment.
